McInelly Highlight

Ms. McInelly is one of the many amazing Language Arts teachers. She states, “I have always loved to write; then in fifth grade I discovered books that interested me and thus developed my passion for reading. Because of this passion, I took higher level English classes in high school and went on to take English classes for fun in college. You know how most people take sports classes for fun in college or photography classes? Well I took British Lit., The Hero's Journey, and Writings of C.S. Lewis. So basically it was a no-brainer to choose Language Arts as my teaching subject.” Her love of the English literature shows in the way she teaches, she has a true passion for what she teaches, and it rubs off on her students.

Some fun facts about Ms. McInelly are that she’s always trying new things  and loves pirates. In fact, her halloween costume is usually Captain Mac Sparrow, as in Captain Jack Sparrow.  She wanted to teach high schoolers because we’re sarcastic and she can joke with us. She loves sports, including softball, volleyball and basketball. She also enjoys debate, theater, Harry Potter, anime, and Dr. Pepper. If students left her class with one life lesson, it would be, “Their voice matters! Just because you think differently doesn't mean that your voice doesn't matter. Everyone should stand up for what they believe in if it matters to them.” She wishes her students knew that they make her laugh every day and she’s grateful for it. We students make her job as fun an experience as she makes our school day.
